About the Opportunity

Reporting to the OHSE Manager, your primary role will be to assist and support Corplex site staff with the day-to-day implementation of Corplex OHSE systems, policies and procedures. Working closely with site staff and subcontractors to achieve an inclusive on-site safety culture and positive safety compliance outcomes.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Report to the OHSE Manager on all site safety matters.
  • Implement Corplex OHSE systems, policies and procedures.
  • Liaise with Site Managers over multiple sites keeping track of works.
  • Assist site staff with site establishment, inductions and maintenance of registers.
  • Review contractor SWMS and monitor SWMS compliance.
  • Assist with the amendment of SWMS as required to suite site specific requirements.
  • Observe tasks, identify hazards, assess risks and develop practical solutions to address common safety issues.
  • Participate in the hands-on practical implementation of basic safety rectifications.
  • Advise both Corplex site staff and subcontractors on relevant safety matters.
  • Develop Safety Toolbox Meeting agendas and deliver to on-site work groups.
  • Investigate incidents, develop corrective actions and monitor for effectiveness.
  • Conduct Site safety walks and deliver weekly and monthly safety reports.

About You

To be successful you will need to have:

  • A minimum of Certificate IV in OHS (Diploma in OHS preferred) and Level 2 First Aid.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in an industrial/commercial construction environment.
  • At least 12 months in an OHS Coordinator or similar role.
  • A trade background favourable but not essential.
  • A working knowledge of relevant legislation, codes and standards.
  • Exceptional time and resource management skills.
  • The drive, energy and ability to work effectively in an autonomously.
  • The ability to develop practical solutions common safety issues and the willingness to participate in their practical implementation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in computer basics and Microsoft Office and the ability to produce complex documents such as SWMS and Incident Reports to a high standard.
