Melbourne commercial builder, Corplex, set a number of firsts for property giant Stockland with the building of the Highlands Village Community Centre in Craigieburn.
The project marked the first time Stockland had used contract builders in one of their growing network of retirement villages and, according to Stockland Project Manager Damien Poole, it was so successful that contract building may well become the norm.
The Community Centre was also the first of its kind in a Stockland Victorian retirement village. It is a community hub at the centre of the village of 198 villas. The Centre contains everything from kitchen, dining and lounge areas to a dance floor, bar, swimming pool, billiards room, gym, indoor bowls area, library, crafts and meeting area, cinema, medical consulting rooms and hair dressing salon.
Such has been the positive reception from residents that the Highlands Village Community Centre is now seen as a design benchmark for future Stockland retirement villages.
Corplex is extremely proud to have been appointed to construct such an integral part of this facility and are pleased to know the learning pool will be of such a benefit to the students and greater community.
